Have the Faith of God

Have the Faith of God

Scripture Reading: Mark 11:20-26 (KJV)

Pastor Bryant Tabb

Today we reviewed the importance of our words and what Jesus stated we are to do with our words.  In Mark chapter 11 verses 20 to 26, Jesus took the opportunity to teach the disciples about faith.  To be more specific Jesus said to them “have the faith of God.”  He said because you have the faith of God, you can speak unto a mountain and command it to be thrown into the sea, and it will happen.  He admonished them that they must believe it will happen and have no doubt in their hearts.  Then Jesus proceeded to say, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

From today’s passage we discussed, learned and reminded ourselves to stand on the word of God.  Faith works.  We must use our faith to receive from God.  We believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths what God is going to do and He does it because He backs up His word.  God is not a man that He should lie.  If He said he would do it, considered it done.

We must never have any doubt in our hearts, not even a little bit.  We must daily cast down imaginations of fear, doubt and unbelief so that we can believe and receive of God no matter what the situation looks like or what other people are saying.  We can have God’s best as we believe, confess and receive by faith.

We have to change our mindsets by daily renewing our minds with the word of God.  Romans chapter 10 verse 17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  The more we hear the word of God the more we increase/grow in faith.  We must have healthy doses of God’s word in our lives so that we can grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Then it will be easier for us to believe what we say comes to pass.

We have to believe to see not see to believe.  Just like God in Genesis spoke and saw, we must speak the word first and see the results later.

God allows us to go through tests and trials, but just like James chapter 1, we can count it all joy because God is with us.  We can speak the word of God over our situations and Gods power will show up to change our situations as we believe and trust in Him to do so.  The trying of our faith works patience and patience has its perfect work, so that we may be perfect and entire, desiring nothing.  We must be patient and continue to speak God’s word at all times.

The tongue has power.  The bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue.  We have to daily yield to God and submit/surrender our bodies to God so that He can help us control our tongues, flesh, etc.

So in this life, let’s choose our words wisely and speak only those things that we want to come to pass not what we don’t want in our lives.  Because we live in a world full of murmuring, complaining and negativity, we can find ourselves confessing the wrong things and experience things outside of the will of God.  What we need to do in that situation is cut off speaking the wrong things and begin to speak right.  That requires that we think right so that we can speak right, so the studying of God’s word is paramount for our deliverance and success in calling those things that be not as though they were.

Let the bound say I’m free.  Let the sick say I’m healed.  Let’s agree with the word of God, believe on it in our hearts and confess it with our mouths and reap the benefits of having the God kind of faith.
