Walk In the Spirit

Walk In the Spirit

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:1-18 (KJV)

Pastor Bryant Tabb

Today we read in Romans about the fact that we must walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.  We have been made free from the law of sin and death by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.  God sent Jesus in the flesh to defeat sin for everyone and because He did, we now have the ability to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.  Jesus himself displayed a life of being led by the Spirit and we too can do the same.

In order for us to stay free from the bondage of sin we must be as the word of God states spiritually minded and not carnally minded.  To be spiritually minded is life and peace and to be carnally minded is death.

We must be spiritually minded and walk with God every day.  We must agree with God not our flesh, not satan or the world’s thoughts/way of doing things.  The more we practice agreeing with God the more we will be walking after the Spirit.  Because we agree with God, it will stop worrying, fear, doubt and unbelief from dominating our lives.

A key to staying spiritually minded is to renew our minds with the word of God daily.  To meditate the word daily helps us stay spiritual.  The more word we put in us, the more we will be able to stand during difficult times.  As we stay in the spirit more and more, we will not walk in the flesh.
